CROUSE, Ira Roxway - 74, Waterloo, Lunenburg Co., passed away September 18, 1997, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Waterloo, he was a son of the late Marcus and Jennie (Crouse) Crouse. He operated the family farm, overlooking Long Lake, until his retirement. He was a member of Lapland Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon for many years. He was a former member of Lapland and District Fire Department, the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture, Farmers Dairy and Bridgewater Farmers Co-op. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, the former Shirley Fraser; children, Brian and wife Liz, and their children Megan and Timothy, Truro; Cathy and husband David Hayes, Dayspring; Paul and wife Jane and their children, Peter, Marcus, Robert and James, Kentville; Kevin and wife Darlene and their daughter, Allison, Waterloo; Susan, Toronto, Ont.; Jennifer and husband Mark Hudson and their son, Jason, Bridgewater; sisters, Vella Greene, Bridgewater; Lola (Mrs. Hardy Freeman), Greenfield. He was predeceased by brothers, Curtis and Garth; sister, Eletha. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today in Lapland Baptist Church, Rev. Ron Baxter officiating. Burial to follow in Waterloo Cemetery. Family flowers only. Memorial donations to Lapland Baptist Church, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or any charity would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater.
