COOLEN, Violet Mae - 79, a resident of Shoreham Village Home for Special Care, Chester, since 1988, formerly of Fox Point, Lunenburg Co., died December 5, 1997, in Shoreham Village Home. Born in Fox Point, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Jennie (Longard) Coolen. She was a lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, holding various offices in the Fox Point and Bridgewater congregations. She was a church organist, a piano music teacher and an avid flower gardener and arranger. Surviving are son, Reid and wife Margaret, Fox Point; brother, Floyd and wife Annie, Halifax; sister, Marie and husband Donald Soper, Dartmouth; grandchildren, John-Charles and Julie-Jane; nieces, Myrna and husband Pastor Heimo Heghesan, Sorrento, B.C.; Nancy and husband Donald Harnish, Mill Cove, Lunenburg Co.; many nieces and nephews in-law. She was predeceased by her husband, John; brother, Sanford and wife Audrey. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in Ronald A. Walker Funeral Home, Hubbards. Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday in Fox Point Seventh-day Adventist Church, Pastor Roy Dubyna, assisted by Pastor Lloyd Steeves, officiating. Interment to follow in Fox Point Seventh-day Adventist Cemetery. Flowers are appreciated or memorial donations may be made to Shoreham Village Senior Citizens' Association or any charity.
