DeMONT, Donald Robert - 64, Gold River, Lunenburg Co., died May 21, 1998, in Bathurst, N.B. Born in Martins Point, he was a son of Grace (Rafuse) DeMont, Gold River, and the late Keith DeMont. He was a member of St. Mary's Anglican Church, Gold River; an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 144, Western Shore, and a member of Norwood Masonic Lodge 135, New Ross. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 83. He had been employed with Guildford's Ltd., Dartmouth, as an acoustic ceiling and drywall installer and then later was self-employed as the same. Surviving, besides his mother, are his wife, Opal Jean (Swinimer) DeMont; sons, Jeffrey and wife Nancy, Jody, all of Gold River; stepdaughter, Bonnie (Mrs. Kimber Sawler), Western Shore; stepson, Michael Hamm, Chester Basin; sister, Carolyn (Mrs. Fred Swinimer), Gold River; twin brother, Douglas and wife Carolyn, Western Shore; granddaughters, Michelle, Sara-Jean, Erica and Leanne Hamm; grandsons, Shawn DeMont and Jordan Sawler; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, in Mahone Funeral Home, where legion service will be 7 p.m., and Masonic service will be 7:30 p.m. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, in St. Mark's Anglican Church, Martins Point, Rev. Michael Mitchell officiating. Burial in Western Shore Cemetery. Immediate family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Anglican Church, Gold River, or St. Mark's Anglican Church, Martins Point.
