REEVES, Maurice Clayton - 73, New Ross, Lunenburg Co., died peacefully Wednesday, May 20, 1998, at home. Born in New Ross, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Harold and Verna (Swinimer) Reeves. He was a woodsman all his life, working as a sawyer for many years and later owned a logging operation. He was an avid horseman and competed in many horse-pulling competitions at county and community fairs. He belonged for many years to the New Ross Farmers Association. He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Russell; sons, Thomas and wife Debbie, Glendon and wife Shelley, Jeffrey and wife Brenda, all of New Ross; brothers, Clifford, Courtney and Oran, all of New Ross; sisters, Madeline (Mrs. Melvin Walker), Granville Ferry; Elsie (Mrs. Harold French), New Hampshire; Pansy (Mrs. Foster Hiltz), The Forties; Elva Bezanson, Halifax; grandchildren, Daniel, Michelle and Alyssa. He was predeceased by brothers, Percy and Basil; sister, Beatrice; granddaughter, Kaylie. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in H.C. Lindsay Memorial Chapel, New Ross. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, in Christ Anglican Church, New Ross, Rev. Gordon Neish officiating. Burial in Christ Anglican Cemetery, New Ross. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
