Obituary: VARNER, Florence Annabelle (NS)

VARNER (Josey), Florence Annabelle - 69, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 23, 1998, in Roseway Hospital, Sandy Point. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Levi and Gertrude (MacLellan) (Rafuse) Josey. She was a member of Shelburne Lions Club, serving as the first district vice-president; charter member of the Lioness Club, and was a member of the Nova Scotia Guides Association. She was a loving mother, wife and special friend. Sadly missed by her husband, Loran K. Sr.; son, Loran (Connie) Varner Jr., Halifax; daughters, Deby (Danny) MacAlpine, Shelburne; Sue (Fred) Davis, Jordan Ferry; Earlene (Derek) Rennehan, Gunning Cove; Kelly (Adrian) Pierce, Woodlawn Drive, Shelburne; stepdaughter, Dianna (Hector) Isenor, Dartmouth; grandson, Benjamin Davis, at home; special friend, Ernest Davis, at home; brothers, Val Josey, Patrick Flemming, Toronto; sisters, Aloysia Cleary, Dartmouth; special sisters, Ruth and Sis; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five step- great-grandchildren; many friends, nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, both in H.M. Huskilson's Funeral Home, Shelburne, Rev. Sheila Firth-Warlund officiating. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Shelburne. A reception will follow at the Shelburne Lions Club. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Roseway Hospital Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society.
