HUBLEY, Ira Austen - 79, Dartmouth, passed away March 2, 1998, in QEII Health Sciences Centre, New Infirmary Site. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Ira and Pearl (Spears) Hubley. He served in the Army and in the Second World War. He was then employed with Halifax City Police Department and later went to work with Nova Scotia Light and Power. Surviving are his wife, the former Pauline Finlay (Thomas); daughter, Faye (Mrs. Andrew Moran), Fairview; stepdaughter, Lynn (Mrs. Stanley Bauld), Halifax; son, Barry, Bedford; stepson, David Thomas, Dartmouth; grandchildren, Darren and Monica Hubley, Bedford. He was predeceased by his first wife, Audrey Estelle (Drake). Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday in Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home, 2032 Robie St. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday in the Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit, Gaston Road, Dartmouth, Rev. Marian Burns officiating. Reception to follow the service in the church. Cremation to follow. Burial at a later date in Fairview Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
