BOUTILIER, George Edward Wilfred - 86, Halifax, died Thursday, March 26, 1998, in QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in Halifax, September 3, 1911, he was a son of the late Arthur and Ethel Maude Boutilier. Wilfred Boutilier was an exceptionally talented pilot, golfer and cabinet maker. He taught flying during the Second World War and subsequently went on to establish a unique reputation as a maker of fine furniture. Surviving are his wife, Betty Reeves Boutilier; daughter, Mrs. Joan Georghallides, Nicosia, Cyprus; son, Dr. James Boutilier, Victoria, B.C.; stepson, Dr. William Redden, St. John's, Nfld.; sister, Mrs. Charles Stanfield, Bedford; brother, Jack, Clayton Park, Halifax; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mrs. Bette Boutilier; sisters, Mrs. Edith Snow, Mrs. Margaret Cooke, Mrs. Emily Laing; brother, Gilbert Boutilier. No flowers by request. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at a later date.
