PAYZANT, John H. (Jack) - 60, Liverpool, Queens Co., died January 2, 1998, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool. Born in Liverpool, he was a son of Mary K. (Gerhardt) Payzant, Queens Manor, Liverpool, and the late Wilfred E. Payzant. He was a former constable for the Town of Liverpool for a number of years, and was employed with Bowater Mersey Paper Co. Ltd. (security) for 38 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Liverpool Firefighters Association. He was a licensed guide and avid sportsman, who loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of Hollow Log Rifle and Pistol Club and was an avid gun collector. He was an associate member of Royal Canadian Legion, Mersey Branch 38, Liverpool, and former member of Liverpool Curling Club. Cremation has taken place. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, funeral 2:30 p.m. Sunday, both in Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool, Rev. Edward Powell officiating. Burial in Peaceful Hill Cemetery, Port Mouton. No flowers by request. Donations to Liverpool Firefighters Association.
