Obituary: RAYFUSE, Earle Albert (NS)

RAYFUSE, Earle Albert - 67, Nictaux, died January 17, 1998, at home. Born in Moshers Corner, Annapolis Co., he was a son of the late Israel and Edna (Fritz) Rayfuse. He was past president and chairman of the board of TRA Foods, where he worked for 37 years before retiring in 1988 to enter politics. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Nova Scotia for the riding of Annapolis from 1989 to present. He was past member of Wolfville Fire Department; member of the Rotary Club of Middleton; Ducks Unlimited; member of the board of the Valley Health Foundation, building the Valley Regional Hospital. He was responsible for building the Rec Centre in Port George and was chairman of Country Jamboree, Port George, for 14 years. He was involved in all aspects of community service for his constituents. Surviving are his wife, the former Magdalena Marie (Babe) Hoogerwerf; daughter, Nancy and son-in-law Ian Herrington, Clarence, Annapolis Co.; sisters, Mrs. Geneva Veinot, Middleton; Ethel (Mrs. Cecil Hudgins), Truro; grandchildren, Tim and Kristen. Visiting will be 7-9 p.m. today in Warren T. Roop Funeral Home, Middleton. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. John's United Church, Middleton, Rev. Ewen Moase officiating. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Port George. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's United Church Memorial Fund, Annapolis Liberal Association, Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
