HILTZ, Edward Rae (Eddy) - 63, Cole Harbour, died January 26, 1998, in Cole Harbour. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Dudley and Jean (Washington) Hiltz. He served for a short time in the Canadian Armes Forces and most recently, was employed by Volvo Canada in Halifax. He was an active member of the Army, Navy and Air Force Unit 349 in Dartmouth; Royal Canadian Legion, Somme Branch 31, Dartmouth, and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro. Surviving are his wife, the former Dianne Hetherington; son, Richard, Edward Lake, Ont.; stepsons, Scott Jack, Winnipeg; Mark Jack, Porters Lake; Murray Jack, Dartmouth; brothers, Jack, Dartmouth; Carl, Ontario; Eric, Three Fathom Harbour; sisters, Ruth Hiltz, Joan Carroll, Dartmouth; Jean Sangster, Seaforth; Evelyn Cook, Salt Springs, Pictou Co.; Cathy Murphy, Lantz; stepbrothers, Donald and Hector MacKinnon, Dartmouth; stepsisters, Shirley Chartrand, Frances Nelson, Dartmouth; Marion Wintzer, Ontario; five grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by stepmother, Edna Hiltz (MacKinnon); stepbrother, Clarence MacKinnon; brother, Kenneth Hiltz. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, Buffalo service 7 p.m. today, Army, Navy and Air Force service 7:30 p.m. today, funeral 2 p.m. Thursday, all in A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Dartmouth, Rev. Arthur Snow officiating. Reception to follow in Army, Navy and Air Force Club, Main Street, Dartmouth. Family flowers only.
