Born 26 Mar 1893 in Westfield Beach, Kings, New Brunswick. Enlisted July 1916, at the time he was single and a carpenter. He lived most of his adult life in western Canada. He was twice married (1. Deborah Marion Coran, 2. Blanche), and although he had been separated from his first wife for many years, and perhaps divorced. Family tales said that it was not until after her death that he felt free to remarry, since his religious beliefs were that a divorced person was not free to marry. He had no children by either marriage. He died 17 Jul 1980 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
