All graves are unmarked, but the site is marked with a sign and an angel. The site is best accessed with permission from the farmer whose lands surround it.
From Icelandic River Heritage Sites: "Nes is the resting place of some 30-40 Icelandic pioneer men, women, and children - including 19 who died during the smallpox epidemice of 1876-77. Also the site of numerous aboriginal graves." In use 1876-1880.
