Church / Denomination: St Andrew. Presbyterian, now United.
This cemetery is the final resting place for many of the area's first settlers who came from Scotland in the mid 1800's. Established approximately in 1846. The oldest standing headstone belongs to Ann Smith-Christie, of Glasgow Scotland, and was erected in 1860. Up until the 1980's this cemetery was in ruins. With the help of local residents it has been restored St. Andrew's United Church – moved from next to the cemetery in the mid 1950's. Church is now located on the main road. This church is still in use and has amalgamated with other area churches. Land Origin: The area is known as Christie's Beach and possibly may have been connected to the Christie family of little Bras d'Or.
