Township: Sullivan Township (Concession 4, Lot 19)
Locality: Grey County
GPS: Can you help map this cemetery?
Registered to Township of Chatsworth. From Erla Wilson: Around 1867 Henry Mannerow Sr. sold plots in the 1/2 acre on his farm which he had set aside as a burial ground which was used by members of St Peters. He was a charter member of the St Peters Lutheran Church and on Mar 4, 1885 at a congregational meeting he was asked to provide a deed to the church but he refused and a couple of months later the church purchased land from Joseph Engel (Lot 18 Concession 5 Sullivan) for their church cemetery. The first one to be buried in the large vault at Cedardale was John (Henry's son) Mannerow's 3 year old son William at the time the vault was built 1895-96. The name has changed over the years and in 1991 the township assumed the cemetery. Many of the stones are difficult to read and some are broken, while a large number have been arranged in a t-shape atone end of the property - probably because they had fallen over and the area had not been well maintained (my assumption). Johann F.W Guse a 6 year old child of my Great Great Grandparents is buried there. There is a further history write up about this cemetery in the St Peter's Lutheran Church 1862-1992 history book.
