Church / Denomination: Cemetery was affiliated with a Methodist Church that joined with Grace United Church c1850
Registered to Corporation of Haldimand County. From Pat Kelderman UE: Recently the County of Haldimand has agreed with the Grace United Church cemetery committee to restore and preserve this cemetery. The stones will be restored and placed back on the original gravesites. At some point in time the stones were removed from the gravesites and placed along the east fence line. Luckily the Ontario Genealogy Society documented the gravesites, gravestones and inscriptions in the early 1960's. After many years the stones were covered with debris and their state of integrity was being compromised. My great great great grandparents Peter Young and his wife Hannah along with other family members stones were among those in such condition. In 2006 on one of my many trips to this cemetery and it's clean up I approached the Haldimand County cemetery assistant to see what could be done. A cemetery committee was struck to find out what could be done. My brothers and nephews cleaned the stones and placed them in the open area of the cemetery. After several meeting with the powers that be it has been decided that the stones will be restored and place back on the original gravesites. My Young family ancestors will be at peace again and many thanks to all those responsible for the progress and preservation of these gravestones and the cemetery itself. First interment about 1850.
