Municipal cemetery. Established 1914.
In 1910, Mr. Zach Leach filed land north of the Red Deer river, in the Mayfield district. He moved his wife, five sons and two daughters from Ontario in 1911. His daughter May, died of tuberculosis in the winter of 1913. The weather was too cold to travel to Alsask, Sk. for burial, so Zach donated a portion of his land for a cemetery, hence Mayfield Cemetery, in memory of May Leach.
