The Pettit Family
Stephen Pettit, son of Amos, was in the Niagara area (Crowland Twp) of Ontario about 1799. To date there is no further information on Amos. Seems Stephen hatched! There is thought to be a connection to the UE Pettit's (those in the Grimsby area of Ontario). This has yet to be proven.

My Pettit Mystery
Looking for Paul Laird Pettit, born 21 Dec 1937 in Brantford, Ontario and Patrick Dennis Pettit, born 16 May 1943. They had a brother Peter Graham Pettit, born 9 Aug 1939, died 3 Nov 1993 in Hamilton, Ontario (his wife was named Judy). These three are the sons of Jack Gordon Pettit, son of Oscar Joel Pettit and Maud Miller (below). If you know where Paul or Pat are I would appreciate hearing from you.

Wish to contact me about this family?

Please note that I cannot help anyone in their quest to trace their family tree. There are several very good websites dedicated to helping you learn how to climb your tree. They are far more informative and accessible than I am! Please take advantage of those services. Thanks

E-Mail Address:

As useful as it would be, I'm unable to read minds. Therefore I do need your help if you write to me for assistance or to inquire about a possible family connection.

Firstly I need a name - WHO are you looking for? (including the name of their spouse is also helpful).

Secondly a date - WHEN were they born, did they migrate, die, etc?

Lastly a place - WHERE were they born/married, etc.

Why are these three things needed? Name should be obvious. A date helps narrow it down - I may have a name that matches (sometimes a dozen or more) but that's not helpful to either of us especially if none of them turn out to match your information (all it does is waste time). A place narrows it down even further. I may not have the name you're seeking, but perhaps a branch of my tree was in the area at the same time as yours.

A full family history isn't required, just enough information to give me a place to start checking my data for a match. Thanks!
