Who Is Isaac?
Isaac Gilbert was born 25 Oct 1742 in Ridgefield, Connecticut. He died on 5 Sep 1822 in Norfolk, ON just hours after his wife Mary Rowland, whom he married on 10 Apr 1771 in Fairfield, Connecticut.
Mary Rowland was born 24 Nov 1754 in Fairfield, Connecticut. She is thought to be the daughter of Thomas Rowland and Tamson Jacocks.
Isaac was a Sergeant in Captain James Dunlop’s company of the Queen’s Rangers starting in 1777. He applied for land in Norfolk County, Ontario as a United Empire Loyalist in 1797.
Isaac and Mary were married in Connecticut in 1771. They had 13 children:
