1800's - settlers (originally from Glasgow and Paisley, Scotland) from Quebec's New Glasgow settlement and nearby Kilkenny Township migrated to Carleton County
From Larry McLaren - There is considerable evidence of migration from PEI and Nova Scotia in the early to mid 1800s. There seems to be considerable settlment in the Bruce and Huron and surrounding Counties
